Although known largely because of his genius son, Leopald Mozart was also a distinguished musician; an excellent violinist and composer. His famous treatise was the major work of its period on the Violin and is comparable inimportance to Quantz's treatise on the Flute, and CPE Bach's on the Keyboard.
